She was formally an Assistant Professor at Creighton University where she taught graduate courses in counseling. She has also been the Associate Director of Project Status, a program for children experiencing emotional and academic difficulty and their parents.
Dr. Wicks completed training in psychopharmacology and is currently Board Certified as a Diplomat Fellow Prescribing Psychologist. Dr. Wicks is comfortable working closely with your primary care physician when medication is a consideration. Dr. Wicks is also highly trained in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. In addition, she has advanced training through the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (E/RP) to treat OCD.
In addition to her broad training and experience working with individuals and couples, Dr. Wicks also works with adolescents, children, and their families. She is trained and experienced using Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy in the treatment of trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Other areas of specialization include the diagnosis and treatment of child and adult Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and learning disabilities.
Additional areas of specialization include the treatment of adult children of dysfunctional families, eating disorders, addictive behavior, co-dependency, grief recovery, life transition issues, and recovery from childhood abuse.

Dr. Patricia Wicks received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Social Work (1979) and a Master
of Arts in Psychological Counseling (1980). In 1984, she completed her doctoral degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
